The Forty Creek Distillery was established in Grimbsy, Niagara in 1992. Even from its early days, our Founder John Hall and blender Bill Ashburn would establish a new standard for Canadian Whisky Blends.

Blending whiskies was always an art form for Bill Ashburn. He found that by aging the different alcohols of his blends independently (and according to the method that worked best for each particular grain), he was able to highlight different elements in the whisky. With that idea, he has gone on to create some of the best Canadian whiskies, liqueurs and cream liqueurs on the market.

Bill’s innovative whisky distilling and blending techniques have led Forty Creek to win a slew of awards, including the 2022 Double Gold Medal for ‘Best Canadian Whisky’ and the Canadian Whisky Awards ‘Whisky Maker of the Decade’.
